The Senior Technical Professional – Structural Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical deliverables and activities on ongoing projects as it relates to the physical structures, bridges, racks, poles/towers, etc. Responsible for independently applying advanced techniques and analysis within the discipline/project.
- Perform structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for a variety of transmission and distribution projects.
- Modify and review production drawings for a variety of pipeline projects, specifically pipe rack design and evaluation.
- Design structural components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
- Applies strong knowledge of commonly used structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes and procedures within the structural engineering service industry.
- Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
- Quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
- Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
- Responisble for QA/QC process adherence.
- Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
- Developing specifications as required for the project.
- Ensuring compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Strcutural Engineering or Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Professional Engineering license, NCEES license preferred.
- 7 or more years field and project planning experience.
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering tehniques and procedure related to energy transmission and distribution and midstream pipeline transmission.
- Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software.
- The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Excellent project management and supervision skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
