The Situation
Percheron partnered with TC Energy to explore the feasibility of conducting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) UAS operations along a designated right of way in the Northeast. The goal was twofold: understand the FAA’s BVLOS waiver process and test BVLOS capabilities in a real world inspection environment, an area where approvals are exceptionally rare.
The Strategy
Leveraging deep regulatory and UAS expertise, Percheron secured a BVLOS waiver for the project area and completed multiple BVLOS flights along the selected corridor to validate performance and operations. With only about 100 commercial BVLOS waivers ever granted, this achievement places Percheron among a select group of operators authorized for advanced UAS missions.
The Success
Percheron’s work proved the feasibility of BVLOS flights for large‑scale right of way monitoring. The project highlighted Percheron’s commitment to innovation and adoption of advanced technologies that enhance client capabilities. This milestone further solidifies Percheron’s position as a leader in advanced UAS operations and integrated project solutions.
