We've previously explored our robust environmental practices, emphasizing sustainability within our operations and communities. Now, we turn our attention to the social component of ESG. This vital element underscores our mission to make lives better. Our core values drive our social responsibility and continue the mission of "Making Lives Better." Ensuring Safe Working Conditions
Safety in all operations is a top priority, and we emphasize a solid health and safety culture across the company for our employees to thrive. We live by the belief that "safety brings us home," ensuring that every employee returns home safely at the end of the day. Our safety culture is driven by a set of principles we call the 10 Safety Commandments, which guide our actions and keep health and safety at the forefront of everything we do.
Our 10 Safety Commandments are the foundation of our safety program. Each commandment reflects a critical aspect—from safety meetings and training to reporting incidents and near misses immediately to our supervisors. We exceed client and regulatory safety requirements while balancing project timelines to prioritize our employees' health and safety.
Our proactive safety culture gives us pride. We believe in addressing hazards before they become incidents and continuously learning from near misses. Our total recordable incident rate is lower than the industry average, a testament to our commitment. We keep safety at the forefront with a companywide weekly e-mail blast covering a wide variety of topics from work to personal safety. Additionally, we conduct safety surveys biennially to gauge safety culture and identify areas for improvement.
No two projects are alike, so our safety program evolves to meet each one's unique challenges. We assess hazards for each project and create safe work plans, including control measures that address specific risks. Our safety committee includes at least one member from each department representing various locations, and all experience levels help guide our safety initiatives. We've recently integrated cyber safety into our safety framework, recognizing that digital security is an important aspect of operations.
Our commitment to safety extends beyond our own team. We collect data from subcontractors to maintain the highest safety standards, ensuring they align with our safety values. By vetting subcontractors this way, we protect our employees and safeguard the communities where we operate. This practice ensures that every individual on the location shares our commitment to safety and minimizes the risk of incidents that could otherwise undermine the integrity of our projects.
Safety is everybody's responsibility. We are reducing our vehicle mileage, increasing our work hours, and tightening our safety standards, all while reducing reportable incidents. This is evidence that we are adhering to our safety commandments and making it home at the end of the day.
Percheron Gives Back
Percheron Gives Back is a fund that empowers employees to make a financial difference in the lives of those around us. Every dollar contributed by employees to this fund is company-matched and is used for two functions: first to help our own colleagues out and second, to be contributed to local charities. Most recently, Percheron Gives Back contributed $10,000 to eight employees impacted by Hurricane Milton. We believe we are stronger together, and are committed to lifting each other up and strengthening the communities around us.
Percheron takes pride in supporting community engagement. We help communities where we live flourish through three main channels: supporting children's growth and development, providing scholarships for higher education, and supporting veterans and those in need. These initiatives reflect our commitment to making a lasting positive impact on the lives of those around us. Throughout the year, we contribute both time and money to Children's hospitals in our regional areas. Funds from the Percheron Gives Back are directed towards Children's Cancer Research and safe havens. We contribute time and money to over 25 scholarships, encouraging students to continue advancing the energy spectrum. Other funds are directed toward large charitable organizations geared to help local communities through health, education, and financial literacy.

Aligned with our core value of "leave it better than you found it," Percheron encourages and supports philanthropic efforts and volunteerism among our employees. Our team actively participates in community service projects, contributing their time and skills to charitable causes. This strengthens community bonds and enriches our employees' personal and professional lives. Over the last two years, the Percheron team has provided over 2,000 hours of volunteer time, reflecting genuine compassion and commitment to giving back and inspiring the team to make a positive impact in our communities.
